From October 13th to 22nd, Perugia (Umbria) will host the Eurochocolate festival, a popular tourist event – the sweetest in Italy.
The festival, dedicated to the Italian and international chocolate-making traditions, features culinary stands, a host of entertainment and cultural events, and a variety of performances that enliven the streets and squares of Perugia's historic center. Festival-goers will be able to sample a wide variety of chocolate dishes and purchase rare chocolate souvenirs.
According to ENIT, an exhibition of chocolate sculptures—true works of art carved by professional sculptors from one-cubic-meter chocolate blocks—will be on display throughout the festival. The artists will distribute the pieces and chocolate shavings chipped off during the creation of the sculptures to anyone interested.
Another traditional event is Eurochocolate World, where cocoa-producing countries will present their traditions, customs, and products made from cocoa beans at the Rocca Paolina castle.
