Sochi National Park offers free entry in exchange for trash.

The Sochi National Park administration is offering visitors a refund for their entrance fees in exchange for trash collected on the park's grounds. The first site for this experiment was the White Rocks Canyon, which, thanks to its picturesque waterfalls, is very popular with tourists, who often leave household waste in recreation areas.

Park visitors will be able to get a refund on their entrance fee (200 rubles per person) by bringing back full bags of trash collected in the canyon. In this way, the national park's management hopes to encourage tourists to participate in cleanup efforts and maintain the pristine nature of the ancient forest, Interfax reports.

The problem of litter in national parks is not unique to Russia. Park administrations are constantly coming up with new ways to cultivate a greener mindset among visitors to protected areas.
