Rosaviatsiya reported record millions

Domestic and foreign airlines set a record for the number of flights over Russia in 2017. This was reported by the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) on Wednesday, January 10.

According to a report published on the official website of the department, in 2017, within the Russian 1,530,000 flights were carried out through the airspace. Most of these flights were international. This surpassed the 2014 record of 1,462,000 flights. Compared to 2016, this represents an increase of 8,261,000 flights.

At the end of 2017, Rosaviatsia reported another record. From January to December, Russian carriers served 105 million passengers. The previous record, reached in 2014, was 93.2 million.

Department head Alexander Neradko promised to increase current figures in the future by developing the potential of airports in the Far East and the Far North. The restoration of the previously extensive local air service network in these regions will contribute to this increase in capacity.
