64% tourists come to Croatia on their own

In 2017, foreign tourists who arrived in Croatia independently accounted for almost 66% of the total number of overnight stays, and their share of the total tourist flow, which amounted to 17.4 million people, reached 64%.

This is evidenced by data from the Central Statistical Croatian Bureau (DZS), the relevant ministry reports.

According to current data, the number of foreign "self-tourists" last year exceeded the 2016 figure by 18.6.

Meanwhile, organized tourist flow through tour operators increased by only 6.2%

This trend, according to the country's Ministry of Tourism, has been characteristic of Croatia for several years now: organized tourism is significantly inferior to independent tourism, and this gap is becoming increasingly significant.
