The maximum period of visa-free stay for Russians in Cuba will be increased

The Russian government approved a draft agreement on visa-free travel between Russia and Cuba. The maximum visa-free stay for Russian citizens in Cuba will be increased to 90 days, the official legal information website reported on Thursday, according to Interfax-Tourism.

The agreement, published on the website, states that citizens of the Russian Federation and Cuba may "enter, exit, transit, and reside in the territory of Russia or Cuba without a visa for up to 90 days within each 180-day period, counting from the date of first entry." Those intending to stay and reside in the territory of the other country for more than 90 days must obtain a visa in accordance with the laws of the country of entry.

Cuba and Russia already have a visa-free travel agreement for tourists staying up to 30 days. Russians made 75,000 trips to Cuba in 2017, 671,000 more than the previous year.
