This season, the Crimean Ministry of Resorts and Tourism will offer tourists the "Wine Route"—a series of two- to five-day tours that include winery visits, tastings, and themed excursions.
According to RIA Novosti, the "Wine Road of Eastern Crimea" tour offers two-day visits to the Solnechnaya Dolina winery, the Novy Svet champagne factory founded by Prince Golitsyn, and the Koktebel vintage winery, where Madeira is produced. You can also explore the "Wine Road of Sevastopol" in two days, visiting six wineries located around the city. A longer tour, the five-day "Wine Road of Crimea," is also available.
According to Crimean winemakers, Crimea has over twenty climate zones and a variety of soils, so wines from producers using similar techniques can be completely different. Furthermore, tourists are served wine with a variety of local snacks, and lunches and dinners are organized.
Tour operators are currently developing their offerings. Crimean authorities are confident the project will be successful and will promote wine tourism. Independent tourists will also be able to visit wineries. Prices for tastings and tours of wineries range from 550 rubles per person (10 wines from Solnechnaya Dolina and a visit to the Golitsyn cellars) to 3,500 rubles per person (a tour of the UPPA Winery vineyards and a tasting with snacks).
