Bridges have begun to be raised in St. Petersburg

Today, April 10, the Neva River navigation season officially begins in St. Petersburg, meaning tourists should take into account the nighttime bridge openings and plan their routes, reports Travel.ru.

Raised bridges are one of the symbols of St. Petersburg, and many tourists come to the city's embankments to admire this nighttime spectacle.

Due to the reopening of the Tuchkov Bridge after restoration, changes have been made to the bridge opening schedule. According to St. Petersburg's Mostotrest, this year the Voldarsky Bridge will be raised from 2:00 to 3:45 and from 4:15 to 5:45, the Alexander Nevsky Bridge from 2:20 to 5:10, the Bolshoi Okhtinsky Bridge from 2:00 to 5:00, the Liteiny Bridge from 1:40 to 4:45, the Troitsky Bridge from 1:20 to 4:50, the Palace Bridge from 1:10 to 2:50 and from 3:10 to 4:55, the Blagoveshchensky Bridge from 1:25 to 2:45 and from 3:10 to 5:00, the Birzhevoy Bridge from 2:00 to 4:55, and the Tuchkov Bridge from 2:00 to 2:55 and from 3:35 to 4:55. If a request is received for vessel passage under the Sampsonievsky, Grenadersky, and Kantemirovsky bridges, they will be opened according to a unified schedule: from 1:30 AM to 4:30 AM. If necessary, tourists can cross the Neva at night via the Bolshoy Obukhovsky Bridge, which does not open but is located far from the city center.

As a reminder, real-time information on the bridge's status—whether it is raised or lowered, and how much time remains until it is raised or lowered—is available on the Mostotrest website.

The navigation season in St. Petersburg will last until November 30.
