Russia will decide on the need for additional inspections at Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh airports in early summer, Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov told reporters, according to RIA Novosti.

“When the practice is established (after the resumption of regular "(flights to Cairo), which we can analyze, then there will be a basis for continuing these negotiations (on resuming charters). Early summer," Sokolov said on Friday on the sidelines of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.
He noted that the decision on additional inspections of Egypt's resort airports will be made based on the results of the analysis and additional information received from Egyptian colleagues.
On Wednesday, April 11, Aeroflot operated the first scheduled flight from Sheremetyevo to the Egyptian capital since the air service was suspended. The EgyptAir flight arrived at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport from Cairo on April 12.
Air travel between the two countries was disrupted in the fall of 2015 following the crash of a Kogalymavia plane over Sinai. The airliner was en route from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. There were 217 passengers and seven crew members on board. All were killed. The FSB subsequently classified the incident as an act of terrorism. The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The decision to resume direct flights between Russia and Egypt was preceded by extensive efforts to strengthen security at Egyptian airports.
