Resort fees in Crimea may be postponed until 2019.

In the near future, the Crimean leadership will consider the possibility of postponing the introduction of the resort tax until May 1, 2019. This was announced by the head of the regional parliamentary committee on sanatorium-resort Alexey Chernyak, head of the complex and tourism, reports Tourprom.

"The law on resort fees comes into force on May 1, 2018, but despite this, we plan to adopt the amendments and extend it by a year until May 1, 2019. This is due to the need to prepare an additional package of documents and another legal amendment, which stipulates that all laws will come into force 10 days after publication," he said, according to Regnum.

As a reminder, Alexander Trukhachev, Minister of Tourism and Health Resorts of the Stavropol Krai, previously announced that regional authorities do not plan to increase the resort tax rate until 2022. "Starting in 2019, regions participating in the resort tax experiment have the right to increase it to 100 rubles per day. However, Vladimir Vladimirov, the governor of the region, has decided to maintain the resort tax at 50 rubles for the duration of the experiment, until December 31, 2022," he said at the time.
