Italians are not willing to pay more than 7 euros for pizza.

Italy has counted the number of pizzas baked daily in the country. The figure has reached 8 million, according to Il Denaro.

The National Association of Cna Agroalimentare, at the Tutto Pizza exhibition in Naples, shared statistics regarding the production of one of the most Pizza is one of the most popular Italian dishes. Every day, pizzaiolos prepare around 8 million of them. Over the course of a year, this figure amounts to around 3 billion.

Experts counted approximately 126,800 pizza shops in Italy. Only 76,357 of these serve freshly baked pizzas. The Abruzzo region has the highest number of pizzerias, with one establishment per 267 residents. Sardinia, Calabria, Molise, and Campania also have the highest number of pizzerias in Italy.

As for the preferences of Italians themselves, almost 79% residents choose traditional pizza. The rest opt for specialty pizzas. What the overwhelming majority of Italians agree on is the pizza shape. Almost 95% prefer round pizzas. Interestingly, one in two Italians is unwilling to pay more than 7 euros for a pizza.

It's worth noting that during the Tutto Pizza exhibition, which ran from May 21st to 23rd, a Guinness World Record was set for the longest fried pizza in the world. More than a dozen artisans managed to create the dish, which reached 7 meters 15 centimeters in length.

According to Italy's 50 Top Pizza guide, the best pizza is served at Pepe in Grani pizzeria in Caserta. Gino Sorbillo in Naples and Francesco e Salvatore Salvo in San Giorgio a Cremano also make the top three.
