
Crimean Governor Sergei Aksyonov guaranteed free travel on the Tavrida Highway, which will connect Kerch and Sevastopol, RIA Novosti reports.
As the head of the region stated, there will be no toll for driving on the Tavrida highway in Crimea and there cannot be any There will be no questions. Furthermore, S. Aksyonov explained that the two lanes of all sections of the road will be commissioned in December of this year. Construction will be fully completed by 2021.
The first layer of asphalt concrete has now been laid on the Tavrida Highway at the interchange closest to the Crimean Bridge. Approximately 30% of the highway is ready for use. Once completed, the road will be four-lane and will be nearly 251 kilometers long. The Tavrida Highway connects to the Crimean Bridge. Travel time from Kerch to Sevastopol is expected to be less than three hours.
As a reminder, the ceremonial opening of the bridge across the Kerch Strait, connecting the Crimean Peninsula with the Krasnodar Krai, took place on May 15. According to regional authorities, the construction of the Crimean Bridge should have a positive impact on the peninsula's development. On the eve of the long weekend in honor of Russia Day, a record number of vehicles crossed the bridge—25,000. Since the beginning of summer, approximately 200,000 car owners have used the bridge.
