Ingosstrakh insurance company is prepared to compensate all tourists if the tour operator Natalie Tours announces it is ceasing operations. However, the compensation will amount to approximately 4.81% of the tour price, according to the insurer's estimate given to ATOR.

At the same time, as stated by ATOR Deputy Head of the Retail Business Loss Settlement Department of Ingosstrakh Vadim Tarasov, Tourists who agreed to reschedule their tours to later dates, pending the tour operator's resolution of its financial problems, can also expect compensation from the insurer in the event of Natalie Tours's termination.
"Considering the new definition of an insured event under the law on tourism activities, if an insured event occurs during the insurance contract's term, but the losses 'manifest' outside the insurance contract's term, the insurer is obligated to make a payment. Therefore, tourists will be able to claim compensation up to the insured amount under the relevant insurance contract," he stated.
But even under these conditions, the financial guarantees won't be enough to cover all payments. Natalie Tours sold tours primarily on behalf of its legal entity, Panorama Tour. Its operations are insured with Ingosstrakh for 50 million rubles. If Natalie Tours ceases operations and is unable to compensate tourists for their losses on its own, this amount will not be enough to pay all tourists their full compensation. Each tourist will be able to receive a maximum of 4.21% of the amount paid for the trip," comment on the topic in ATOR.
