Experienced traveler Caroline Yasinski shared life hacks on how to pack your suitcase to save on baggage fees, according to News.com.au.
So, the expert doesn't recommend taking clothes of different colors on a trip. It's better, she believes, to choose items of two Neutral colors (black, white) and two or three other complementary colors. It's important to choose only clothes that make you feel confident. For women, K. Yasinski recommends limiting your outfit to just three pairs of shoes: casual shoes, sandals, and heeled pumps.
If your hotel provides toiletries, there's no point in weighing down your luggage with them. Along with soap, shampoo, and shower gel, you can leave your gadgets at home, the traveler believes—after all, you're going on vacation.
"After you've collected all your things," says the expert, "lay them out on the bed and examine them carefully. You can safely discard another third of your clothes. When packing your suitcase, put your shoes first. Then fill in all the spaces between the shoes with clothes to create one even layer."
Another important secret from Caroline: it's best to roll pants, T-shirts, and shorts. Folding several times works only for collared shirts. She also recommends wearing your heaviest clothes on the plane and taking an e-book instead of a couple of paper books.
