Siberia Airlines has introduced discounts on domestic routes.

Siberia Airlines (S7 Airlines) has introduced discounted fares for roundtrip flights to several domestic destinations within Russia. These prices are a response to a similar promotion by Aeroflot, reports Travel.ru.

Round-trip prices from Moscow are: Yekaterinburg - 4972 rubles without baggage and seat selection (5972 rubles with baggage and selection), Novosibirsk - 7210 (10210), Ufa - 5520 (6520), Volgograd - 4758 (7558), Tyumen - 4966 (7966), Kemerovo - 7000 (10000), Nizhny Novgorod - 4302 (5302), Saratov - 5936 (6936), Vladikavkaz - 5118 (6118), Novy Urengoy - 5946 (8946), Nizhnevartovsk - 8158 (11158) rubles.

Tickets are on sale until October 31, and flights are valid until March 31. Tickets must be purchased at least seven days before departure. Refunds are permitted only for tickets with baggage allowances, subject to a 1,500 ruble fee. Tickets with baggage allowances can be exchanged for a possible price difference, while tickets without baggage allowances require a 3,000 ruble fee.

The company has also reduced prices on a number of other routes. For example, a one-way fare from Moscow to St. Petersburg is 2,197 rubles without baggage and seat selection (2,697 rubles with baggage and seat selection), to Sochi it is 2,512 (3,012) rubles, to Rostov-on-Don it is 2,525 (3,025), to Omsk it is 5,002 (6,502), and to Irkutsk it is 6,593 (8,093). These fares are also valid for flights until the end of March.

When purchasing any tickets on Siberia Airlines' website (as with almost all other Russian carriers), please be aware that the airline may include insurance by default. This practice, prohibited in the European Union, can result in a loss of up to 269 rubles per ticket. To avoid falling victim to this insurance scam, find the "Cancel insurance" option on the additional services selection page (or click the shopping cart icon next to the insurance section in the right column) during the booking process.

If a passenger has nevertheless fallen into a trap and paid for unnecessary insurance, it can still be cancelled. In this case, before the start of the flight, you should notify the airline about the cancellation of the insurance service and demand a refund for the insurance.

Last week, Siberia Airlines introduced a new aircraft model, the Boeing 737 MAX 8, becoming the first Russian airline to add this type to its fleet. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 features increased range, reduced noise and emissions, and a more comfortable cabin.

In particular, all seats are equipped with both power outlets and USB ports. Additionally, the tray table has several built-in holders for tablets and mobile phones of various sizes. Currently, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 is deployed on two routes: from Novosibirsk to Chita, as well as on one route between Novosibirsk and Moscow. This type is also expected to be used on routes from Siberia to Southeast Asia.
