Crimean Minister of Resorts and Tourism Vadim Volchenko reported that demand for New Year's holidays on the peninsula increased by 20% compared to last year. By the end of this year, the number of tourists visiting the resort is expected to increase to 7 million.

Earlier, Alexey Chernyak, Chairman of the Crimean State Council's Committee on Sanatorium-Resort Complex and Tourism, stated that the resort had become very popular among tourists and was in high demand, so the peninsula expects a large number of tourists during the New Year holidays, TASS reports.
"For the first time, one of Russia's leading tour operators has extended its charter programs for the fall-winter period, indicating increased demand for vacations in Crimea. Demand exceeds last year's by more than 201,000,000, and sales have reached the depth of January 2019," said Vadim Volchenko.
He also noted that bookings for New Year's tours to the peninsula began this summer, indicating strong demand. Interest in Crimea is growing and will continue to grow; tourists from 132 countries visited the peninsula this year. He added that Crimea broke a record for tourist arrivals this year, welcoming 6 million travelers—a figure unmatched even after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
