The Arctic plans to open visa centers to reduce tour costs.

At the Accessible Arctic international tourism forum in Vorkuta, the idea of opening a visa center in the Arctic was floated to boost tourism and reduce tour prices. Currently, tourists are more attracted to exploring the north in Norway and Greenland, as There are more reasonable and affordable prices there.

Experts believe that such centers are extremely important, as today's poorly developed comfort system is a lesser evil than administrative bans, Nevskie Novosti reports.

They also believe that developing Arctic tourism is a priority for international travelers. They believe that Russian tourists are more attracted to warm beach resorts, where frost and snow are unimaginable. However, for foreign tourists from warmer climates, snow is exotic, so they are extremely interested in exploring the north.

Regulatory restrictions are in place in Komi, depriving the region of revenue from foreign tourists willing to pay for the ice, bears, snow, and other attractions.

Vorkuta can be reached via Komi or Salekhard. Furthermore, tourists incur significant costs on visas, security checks, tickets, and tours. Therefore, experts believe that the Arctic is being developed via Norway.

Thus, Arctic tourism should become a transit route from Europe to Russia and become more attractive thanks to the opening of visa centers in the Russian North.
