International air tickets will become more expensive by 3%

The increase in euro-denominated airfares for international flights from Russia will take effect on December 26. The euro exchange rate for international airfare is set weekly on Wednesdays, with ruble prices calculated using the Central Bank of Russia's euro exchange rate for Tuesday, rounded up to the nearest 50 kopecks. The Central Bank's exchange rate for Tuesday, December 25, is set at 77.88 rubles per euro, and airfare sales for the coming week will be at a rate of 78 rubles per euro. This increase will be 2.5 rubles (last week, the rate was 75.5 rubles per euro), according to Travel.ru's own correspondent.

Therefore, passengers who have decided on their international flight plans from Russia should purchase tickets before midnight from Tuesday to Wednesday. Some airlines are also applying this rate to some fees on domestic flights—these tickets will also become slightly more expensive, but the increase will be significantly smaller. On December 26, most international airfare, as well as some fees on domestic flights, will increase by approximately 3%.
