Russia's tourism market is stabilizing, according to Evgeny Kudelya, Head of the Department of State Tourism Projects and Tourism Security at Rostourism, during the IV Intourist Regional Tourism Forum in Novosibirsk.

"Thanks, perhaps in part, to the tough crackdown, those tour operators currently operating in the market are operating more smoothly than before. We don't expect any major upheavals. Analyzing last year, no more than 11,300 tour operators left the market," he noted, according to Interfax.
He also added that fewer complaints against tour operators were observed during the 2018 New Year's holidays. "There were ten times fewer complaints than usual, and this year the situation is also quite calm," said Evgeny Kudelya.
As a reminder, a number of major tour operators and Central Banks (CBs) left the Russian market last summer and fall, including Natalie Tours, Danko, DSBW Tours, Polar Tour, RossTour, and others. However, observers have repeatedly stated that this negative trend could continue into 2019, primarily affecting the Central Bank and smaller tour operators.
