Germania went bankrupt and ceased operations.

German airline Germania filed for bankruptcy and suspended flights effective Tuesday, February 5. At the time of the closure, the carrier no longer operated flights to Russia, according to a Travel.ru correspondent.

Until the fall, Germania operated the Dresden-St. Petersburg route for a year, and had previously flown to Moscow for several years. At the time of its suspension, the company had approximately three dozen aircraft and operated both charter and scheduled flights throughout Europe and some countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

Passengers who remained with Germania tickets will not receive a refund: the carrier cited German bankruptcy law prohibiting such payments. Several other airlines have offered Germania passengers transfers to their flights for a surcharge, which can be quite substantial: easyJet, for example, offers this option for €110.
