Starting July 1, 2019, foreign tourists will be able to enter the Kaliningrad Region with electronic visas. This was announced by Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin.

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that allows foreign tourists Enter and exit Russia through the Kaliningrad Region using electronic visas. According to RIA Novosti, these electronic visas will be valid for 30 days from the date of issue and allow stays in the region for up to eight days.
In addition, it is noted that for the issuance of electronic visas, border services at Kaliningrad Airport (Khrabrovo), the Kaliningrad sea checkpoint (sections in Kaliningrad, Baltiysk and Svetly), automobile checkpoints at Bagrationovsk, Gusev, Mamonovo (Grzechotki), Mamonovo (Gronowo), Morskoye, Pogranichny, Sovetsk, Chernyshevskoye and the Mamonovo railway checkpoint will be equipped with technical complexes.
As a reminder, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree extending the electronic visa system to international airports in the Republic of Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory.
