Young couples and families with children are increasingly taking river cruises, according to a study conducted by experts at the Infoflot cruise center.

As the company told the TRN portal, the average age of a cruise tourist from Russia in Europe is 40–55 yearsT and older. However, recently, a trend has emerged toward a "rejuvenation" of the clientele. The tourist flow is increasingly comprised of families with children and newlyweds.
"As a rule, river cruises in Europe are easiest to offer to experienced cruise tourists who have frequently vacationed on Russian rivers. They value quality service, a varied route network, and new experiences. However, this product is also ideal for those who enjoy sightseeing vacations and prefer to visit several countries in one trip," experts say.
Infoflot emphasizes that the myth that European cruises are only for the wealthy is long outdated and untrue. Today, such travel is affordable for those with average and lower incomes.
"Unlike land-based tours, the arithmetic of a cruise trip is different. For example, flights to the departure port typically account for a quarter or a third of the total trip cost, and if you book your tickets in advance, the cost will be even lower. Regular flights are established between Russian and European cities, offering a wide range of flight options to major European river ports. Furthermore, European river cruises are sold out up to a year in advance, meaning tourists have plenty of time to find a convenient and affordable flight," the company concluded.
