During the first peak days of August, we were receiving five thousand applications a day; now it's around four thousand applications a day, which is twice as much as usual," the statement reads, according to RIA Novosti.

According to a representative of the Consulate General, the number of tourists applying for visas began to increase in early August, when information emerged about the introduction of new rules for Finnish visa applications starting September 1.
