In early December, double-decker Aeroexpress trains will launch at Sheremetyevo Airport. The trains will run between Sheremetyevo and Belorussky Railway Station. Aeroexpress Deputy General Director Mikhail Kovalsky announced this.
"At the end of November and beginning of December this year, 39 pairs of double-decker trains are expected to travel in both directions from Sheremetyevo Airport to Belorussky Station," he said, according to Interfax.
Moreover, Russian Railways Deputy CEO Oleg Toni previously noted that the company is searching for technical solutions to launch double-decker trains from Belorussky Station.
"At this point, I can't say whether this is possible or whether it complies with regulations. But design institutes are working on this option, and we're looking for a solution. On the one hand, we have an architectural landmark—the Tverskoy overpass—and on the other, the metro—there's no room to dig deeper. We need to find a technical solution that won't compromise safety," he said.
