Rostourism: No information has been received about injured Russian tourists in Japan.

Rostourism has received no information regarding any Russian citizens injured or killed as a result of Typhoon Hagibis, which struck Japan last weekend. A statement to this effect was published on the agency's website.

 

 

“We are closely monitoring the situation "We are working with Russian tourists in Japan and are in constant contact with the Russian Embassy in Tokyo and tour operators selling tourism products to this country. We have not received any information about Russian fatalities or injuries at this time. Due to the typhoon, over 1,000 flights from Japan, including to Russia, have been canceled in recent days. According to our information, tour operators have provided hotels to tourists whose flights were canceled. The return of our citizens to Russia is being monitored by Rostourism and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs," the statement reads.

The agency also noted that it is in constant contact with Japanese airline JAL. The airline is offering alternative flights to passengers on cancelled flights, including a group of 16 Russian tourists.

We would like to add that, according to the latest data, 66 people have died as a result of the natural disaster, another 15 are still missing, and 212 people have received injuries of varying severity.
