Almost two-thirds of Russians (62%) find something to regret after a vacation. There are many reasons for disappointment. For some, it's bad weather or the wrong company, while for others, it's missed opportunities. These are the results of a survey by the international tourism agency momondo.ru service among more than 3,500 respondents from Russia.

As the company told TRN, when asked, "What have you most often regretted after traveling in the last five years?" 36% respondents noted that they didn't have enough time to visit, see, or experience everything they had planned. They were half as likely to be disappointed by the lack of opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the local culture, interact with people, or sample the local cuisine.
Rounding out the top three most common reasons for regret was choosing the wrong travel companion. Travel companions with whom it was uncomfortable to vacation included friends, relatives, spouses' parents, and even children.
At the same time, 9% of respondents were unhappy with the fact that they had to spend their vacation days surrounded by their compatriots, since the chosen resort turned out to be too popular among Russians.
Almost one in ten respondents lamented choosing the wrong time to travel, which ultimately prevented them from enjoying their vacation to the fullest. For some, the influx of tourists during peak season was a drawback, while others found closed cafes, a lack of entertainment, and poor weather during the off-season. Exactly the same number of respondents were upset that they had to be distracted by work and waste time reading the news while traveling. 21,333 Russians were victims of fraud or theft, which marred their vacation memories.
Russian tourists least often regret resort romances, excessive spending (11% each), and alcohol consumption (21% each). However, four times as many (41% each) regret missing a fleeting opportunity with a stranger. This percentage is higher among men (5.7% each) than among women (3.1% each). Interestingly, the number of people regretting failed relationships is the same as the number of those unfortunate enough to fall ill or get injured while on vacation.
5% respondents were upset when they saw the number on the scale after the trip.
