Tourists warned about changes in the schedule of the Finnish Consulate

The Consulate General of Finland has warned tourists about changes to the schedule and visa processing times in late February and early March.

"The Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg and the visa center during the period from late February to early March 2020 years will work as follows:

  • The Finnish Visa Application Centre in St. Petersburg is closed on February 24.
  • Customer service at the Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg will be closed on March 2.
  • The Consulate General of Finland and the Finnish Visa Application Centre are closed on March 9 in connection with the celebration of International Women's Day," the press service of the Embassy of Finland reported.

In addition, due to the implementation of a new information system, visa processing times may increase between February 28 and March 10, by approximately one week, according to our forecasts.

"We ask visa applicants to pay attention to this. This will not affect the operation of visa centers. If a visa is required by the end of February or the first week of March, it should be applied for as soon as possible. No changes to visa issuance requirements are expected," the department added.
