Aeroflot will deploy a larger aircraft on the Moscow-Tokyo route.

Aeroflot plans to change the aircraft type on its Moscow-Tokyo route. Starting this spring, the route will be served by a more spacious Boeing 777, replacing the Airbus A330, according to Travel.ru.

It will be available online from March 31st. The arrival of the Boeing 777 also means the introduction of Premium Economy Class on the route. Round-trip fares now start at 66,351 rubles (regular economy class fares start at 42,256 rubles round-trip).

The flight schedule will remain unchanged. Departures from Moscow will continue daily at 7:00 PM, and return flights from Tokyo will depart at 12:00 PM.

The increase in capacity is likely due to the simplified visa process for Russian citizens entering Japan. Japanese airline JAL previously increased its flight frequency to daily during the summer.
