Yuri Barzykin, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, notes that this year, the flow of tourists from Russia to Hainan has increased by almost a third thanks to the abolition of visas.

“Any visa relaxations will result in growth of 10 to 30 percent,” he said.

The Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST) vice president also notes that 280,000 Russian tourists vacationed on Hainan Island last year. Most trips occur during the winter season.
