On June 23, a colorful kite festival will be held at the Ataman ethnographic complex, located on the Taman Peninsula in the Krasnodar Territory. At 11:00 a.m., a variety of kites will take to the skies, and two hours later, a competition will begin to determine the winners in several categories.
The festival will feature kite-making workshops. Visitors will also enjoy Cossack songs, folk dances, and a concert, RIA Novosti reports.
The Ataman Ethnographic Complex was recognized as Russia's most popular ethnopark in 2017. It is an open-air replica of a Cossack village. The complex features a permanent exhibition, workshops, and hosts exhibitions, festivals, and celebrations. Sports grounds and a children's play area are also available.
