Forest fires engulf Greece

Massive forest fires are raging in the Greek region of Attica, claiming the lives of sixty people. The fires have reached Athens and Corinth. The country has declared a three-day national mourning for the deaths.

According to Interfax, a state of emergency has been declared in areas northeast and west of the Greek capital. According to Rostourism, there are currently approximately two thousand organized tourists from Russia in Attica, but they are not in any danger, as their hotels are located far from the fires.

Rostourism recommends that Russians in Greece remain calm, observe personal safety precautions, follow local authorities' instructions, and avoid visiting forests.
