A Vladivostok resident was fined for illegal business activity after demanding 1,000 rubles from tourists for photos with an owl.

"In Vladivostok, police officers conducted an investigation into a publication about illegal entrepreneurship. A foreign tourist complained about young men offering to take photos with a barn owl for a fee. "It was established that the 23-year-old Vladivostok resident was photographing tourists with the wild bird and asking for 1,000 rubles per photo," the press service of the Primorsky Krai Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
In addition, the inspector for the implementation of administrative legislation drew up a report for carrying out entrepreneurial activity without registering as an individual entrepreneur.
"The materials collected by the police have been sent to the magistrate's court for a decision. Russian law provides for an administrative fine of up to two thousand rubles for illegal entrepreneurship," the department added.
