Madrid will be decorated with graffiti

Numerous graffiti will become new landmarks of the Spanish capital. As part of a Madrid City Hall project, residents of the city's Moratalaz, Carabanchel, Moncloa-Aravaca, Tetuán, Puente de Vallecas, and Villa de Vallecas neighborhoods participated in choosing the graffiti that will soon appear on the walls of buildings, stadiums, and fences.

The artists commissioned to create the drawings are themselves from these Madrid neighborhoods, Noticia.ru reports. The project aims to "use art as a tool for developing the neighborhoods' individuality."

Graffiti has become an integral part of modern cities. Although the graffiti on building walls is often illegal, many of these works are frequently photographed by tourists.
