Phuket opens tourist service centres

Authorities on the Thai island of Phuket are opening 10 tourist service centres on popular beaches. As the Governor of Phuket announced at the opening of the first such centre, located in Patong on Kata Beach, tourists will receive a wide range of services, from a free map of the island to legal advice.

The tourist centers will operate around the clock, reports Thailand News. The next such office will be opened on Kamala Beach, five more will open soon on the beaches of Kata, Karon, Nai Harn, Rawai and Phromthep Cape. There are also plans to open centers in Thalang on Surin and Nai Yang beaches. The main tourist service center will be located in the provincial office of the Department of Disaster Management.

In addition, to improve the safety of holidaymakers in Phuket, 3,400 CCTV cameras have been installed on the island.

Phuket receives up to 15 million tourists a year. For Russians, this island is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Southeast Asia.
