Glavgosexpertiza has approved amendments to the Aeroexpress terminal construction project at Domodedovo Airport.

The project was amended to include the routing of utility lines and changes to the architectural planning solutions taking into account the location of the transport overpass and the pedestrian crossing from the railway terminal building to the airport building.
Construction of the new terminal, with a total area of over 6,000 square meters and a capacity of 1,500 passengers per hour, is scheduled for completion by the start of the 2019 summer season. The project includes two additional departure and arrival tracks and two platforms under a single canopy, as well as a four-story Aeroexpress train terminal building, which will be connected to the airport via an underground passage.
"Currently, four tracks (previously there were two) and two platforms (previously there was one) have already been built. With the appropriate development of the main tracks, this will allow for the arrival and departure of Aeroexpress and commuter trains with the most convenient schedule. This is crucial, as the company's passenger traffic on this route has consistently been high—since the beginning of 2018, we have carried approximately 2.8 million people. The work will not interfere with Aeroexpress service in any way, and services are operating according to the regular schedule. A temporary shelter and walkway have been installed."– noted Mikhail Kovalsky, Acting General Director of Aeroexpress.
The terminal is being built as part of a joint project between Aeroexpress, Moscow Domodedovo Airport, and Russian Railways to develop intermodal transport links between Paveletsky Station and Domodedovo Airport. Aeroexpress is providing full financing.
