Latest data on coronavirus infection in Thailand

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has provided an update on the coronavirus situation in the kingdom.

 

 

"Currently, 41 cases of infection have been recorded in the country. Twenty-eight of those affected have already recovered and returned home. Thirteen "The patients continue to receive treatment and their condition is improving. There have been no fatalities. According to preliminary estimates, approximately 60,000 Russian tourists are currently vacationing in Thailand. The tourism industry is not registering any panic or anxiety among these tourists," the department stated.

They also reminded that a large-scale preventative campaign to prevent the spread of coronavirus is being conducted throughout the country. Infrared thermal cameras have been installed at international points of entry into Thailand, including 28 airports across the country, to screen all passengers 24/7, and sanitary and epidemiological measures have been strengthened. Ground handling and aircraft preparation for flight, including disinfection and cabin cleaning, have been placed under special control. Screening of airline employees, cargo delivery companies, commercial mail, and in-flight catering companies has been intensified.

Major tourist attractions, public transportation, shopping malls, hotels, and other public spaces have stepped up precautions to protect their staff and visitors, including additional cleaning and disinfection.
