Rospotrebnadzor specialists traveled to Turkey on an official visit to investigate the spread of enterovirus infection on the Antalya coast.

“During the visit, department specialists will inspect the hotels that receive the most requests The organization of anti-epidemic measures, including disinfection of swimming pool water, was inspected for those affected by enterovirus infection, and infectious disease hospitals are planned for visits.
Based on the results of the visit, recommendations will be prepared for organizing measures to reduce the health and safety risks for vacationers, including for the next tourist season," Rospotrebnadzor noted.
Rospotrebnadzor's concern about the epidemiological situation at resorts in the Turkish Republic is due to the fact that during the period the hotline was in operation, the agency received information about more than 980 people who suffered from enterovirus infection while vacationing in the Turkish Republic (including 771 children).
Rospotrebnadzor sanitary and quarantine specialists at the Russian border identified 65 people returning from vacation with signs of an infectious disease. All affected individuals received prompt medical assistance, and the necessary anti-epidemic measures were implemented.
The agency draws the attention of tour operators and insurance companies to the inadmissibility of concealing information about health risks when selling tourism products.
"Tour operators and travel agents are responsible for ensuring the safety of the tourism services they provide. This safety for tourists is ensured, among other things, by providing timely information about the risks tourists may face," the agency emphasizes.
Moreover, in the first half of 2017, more than 1,100 infectious diseases were imported into the Russian Federation from other countries, including dengue fever, malaria, and Zika fever.
