Despite the Egyptian side's efforts, Rosaviatsia (the Federal Air Transport Agency) considers it premature to reopen air service to the republic, according to agency head Alexander Neradko.

Against this backdrop, Franz Klintsevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, made another disappointing statement: "I believe reversing this decision in the foreseeable future is out of the question. We certainly understand that suspending flights to Egypt does not improve relations between our countries, but the safety of Russian citizens comes first."
