According to authorities in the Ningxia Autonomous Region (north-central China), three cases of cutaneous anthrax have been registered in two towns in the region. The cases were found to have been infected through contact with sick household members. animals (cows and sheep), reports Rospotrebnadzor.
"One death and two hospitalizations have been reported, and 25 people have been identified as having had contact with the infected individuals. A quarantine has been declared in the outbreak area, and livestock markets in the area have been closed," the department clarified.
