Several large forest fires have been reported in the Attica region of Greece. The fires are raging near Athens and Corinth. More than 600 people have been dispatched to extinguish them, and around 300 pieces of equipment are involved. In areas located to the northeast and west of Athens, a state of emergency has been declared.
Media reports indicate 50 dead and over 150 injured. According to preliminary data from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Situation and Crisis Center, there are no Russian citizens among them.
According to tour operators, there are approximately 2,000 organized tourists from Russia in the Attica region. Rostourism's hotline has not received any calls from them. Currently, there is no threat to Russian tourists in Greece.
The Federal Tourism Agency is in contact with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Dispatch and Information Center and is monitoring the situation.
Rostourism recommends that Russian tourists in Greece remain calm, observe personal safety precautions, follow local authorities' instructions, and avoid visiting forest fire zones.
