How much does a May holiday cost?

This year, Russians have the opportunity to take four consecutive days off during the May holidays—from April 29 to May 2—without even taking a vacation. How can you make the most of this time to travel? The search engine HomeToGo has prepared a study showing the distribution prices for holiday accommodation in popular tourist destinations.

Traditionally, the cheapest vacations abroad are in the CIS and neighboring countries: the lowest prices await guests Batumi (The average cost of a night's rent for a four-person accommodation will be 3,255 rubles from April 29 to May 2), Kyiv (3,844 rubles per night) and Tbilisi (4,173r.).

It won't be much more expensive to have a rest in Yerevan (4,447r.) and Minsk (5,340 rub.).

Outside of the near abroad, you can stay relatively inexpensively in Eastern Europe: a night in Vilnius for the May holidays in accommodation for four (hotel, apartment or house) will cost 7,770 rubles, in Krakow — 7,857 rubles, and in Budapest — 8,380 rub.

These are the top 3 cheapest European cities. The most expensive holiday in May will cost you Amsterdam, where the average cost of housing for four is 24,788 rubles. It is closely followed by London (20,580r.) and Paris (20,141 rub.).

The Russian city with the most expensive vacation rentals for the May holidays was Saint Petersburg, where the average price of a 4-bed apartment will be 6,417 rubles. Moscow, which is considered the most expensive city in Russia, took second place: renting a vacation home during the period 04/29/2018–05/02/2018 will cost an average of 5,344 rubles.

It is closely followed by Vladimir (5,304r.) and Vladivostok (5,146 rubles), and a popular Black Sea resort Sochi (4,808 rubles) took only fifth place in terms of rental costs for vacation homes.

If we compare the prices for holidays during the May holidays this year and last year, then for Russians Holidays in 2018 will cost more Due to the depreciation of the ruble, vacation prices in Russian cities have changed little, and the difference is most noticeable in St. Petersburg (RUB 6,417 per night in 2018 versus RUB 3,844 in 2017).
