Azimuth Airlines has opened ticket sales for flights from Rostov-on-Don to Astrakhan. Flights will operate three times a week, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, starting May 1. Tickets are available for most dates for 888 rubles, according to Travel.ru.
During the first half of May, the flight schedule was irregular, with departures at various times. Starting May 17, the schedule will become more stable: departure from Rostov at 8:40 PM, arriving in Astrakhan at 10:55 PM. The return flight departs at 11:45 PM, arriving in Rostov at 12:05 AM. The Superjet 100 aircraft will operate this route.
888 rubles is the price of the baggage-free, non-refundable promotional fare, which may be valid for a limited time. The price includes 10 kilograms of carry-on baggage (for flights from June 1st, only 5 kilograms; an additional 5 kilograms can be purchased for 300 rubles). Fares with baggage start at 2,280 rubles, and refundable tickets are even more expensive.
Adding baggage to a baggage-free fare costs 2,500 rubles each way. However, all passengers may carry a briefcase or handbag, laptop, camera, and other personal items in addition to their carry-on baggage.
Meals on Azimuth flights are available for a fee. Passengers are only offered free water, both sparkling and still. Online check-in is only available for those willing to pay a minimum of 250 rubles for seat selection.
When purchasing tickets on the Azimuth Airlines website, tickets now include a paid meal (a sandwich for 250 rubles) and paid insurance (290 rubles) by default. This practice of selling services not requested by the customer, while prohibited in the European Union and several other countries, remains widespread in Russia. To cancel unwanted services, click the "Cancel" button on the additional services selection page.
