Türkiye Enters Major Markets With Ancient Cities

The ancient city of Perge, located near Antalya, is expected to be visited by every third tourist coming to Turkey's most popular resort this year, reports Yeni Alanya.

Last week, the PR campaign “Visit Perge!” was launched in Antalya, calling on city guests to visit this amazing place, immerse themselves in history, and learn many new and interesting things.

The campaign targets the Turkish, German, British, and Russian markets. The landmark is expected to attract approximately 4 million tourists this year.

Recently, excavations have been conducted on the site of the ancient city, and restoration of ancient monuments has been underway. These processes are ongoing here and now.

"Our goal is for Perge to be visited by every third tourist coming to Antalya. Our city and its surroundings are very generous in creating new experiences. Gastronomy, ancient history, nature, and culture—all of this allows guests to fully experience them. One of the main global travel trends today is the reluctance of tourists, especially young people, to spend their entire vacation lounging on the beach. They are looking for different adventures," said the Governor of Antalya Munir Karaloglu.

According to him, this year the authorities are promoting the city of Perge at markets, and in the coming years they plan to focus tourists' attention on other ancient cities located near Antalya, including Aspendos and Phaselis.
