Rumors denied in Gelendzhik

The news about the "closure" of the Gelendzhik resort due to renovations, which spread on social media on Monday with a reference to "a seemingly trusted and respected individual," turned out to be completely fake. This is how he commented on it in his Gelendzhik Mayor Viktor Khrestin made a video address, reports Tourprom.

The news reported that the popular resort would be closed to tourists in 2019–2020 due to large-scale reconstruction of the wastewater treatment facilities. According to the mayor, the reconstruction will indeed take place, but there are no plans to "evict" tourists.

"I don't know who's throwing this out there or who's interested, but there will be no city closure due to the reconstruction and construction of wastewater treatment facilities. Construction of wastewater treatment facilities will continue, along with the reconstruction of utility networks. This will be done in individual sections, on individual streets. Therefore, all the health resorts and boarding houses will continue to operate as before," the resort's head stated.
