Ingushetia to build 2 billion tourist cluster

The project to build the Achaluki health resort cluster in Ingushetia has been reviewed for compliance with the requirements for inclusion in the new Federal Target Program "Development of Domestic and Inbound Tourism in the Russian Federation (2019–2025)," Interfax-Yug reports, citing the head of the Committee for Tourism. Republic of Beslan Khamkhoev.

"Construction of the facility in the Malgobek District is planned to begin in 2019, with its cost increased to 2 billion rubles," B. Khamkhoev said following a meeting of the working group reviewing regional investment projects for inclusion in the new Federal Targeted Program.

The cluster project includes the construction of a highway, gas and water supply networks, and the construction of a wastewater disposal system and treatment facilities.

"Federal funds will be used to develop the complex's engineering infrastructure, while construction of the medical buildings and cultural and leisure centers will be carried out by two investor companies," noted B. Khamkhoev.

According to him, the project, costing 2 billion rubles, is expected to be completed by the end of 2021 in the Malgobek district of the republic.

The all-season resort cluster with 300 beds will consist of a health and wellness center with therapeutic mud baths and mineralized pools, as well as a tourism and innovation center. The project will create jobs for approximately 180 people.

"The project is unique because the site of this cluster is home to a vast reserve of mineral waters. Furthermore, a large mineral water plant is already operating near the project, supplying its products to various pharmacy chains, stores, and shopping centers. The new complex will offer a full range of treatments, as well as preventative care," the head of the tourism committee stated.

Geodetic and design survey work is currently underway at the site allocated for construction. Next, the plan includes preparing design and estimate documentation and incorporating the project into the federal program, and then into regional programs. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2019.

It was previously reported that over 1 billion rubles were planned for its construction. Health tourism, along with extreme, cultural, and gastronomic tourism, is one of the promising areas in Ingushetia.
