Low-cost airline Pobeda, part of the Aeroflot Group, has summarized its 2018 results. As the company's press service told TRN, last year the carrier's passenger traffic exceeded 7.1 million, 55% more than in 2017.

In 2018, Pobeda retained Price leadership among all Russian airlines, according to major airline ticket sellers. Over the course of the year, the carrier sold over 400,000 tickets at the lowest fares of 499/999 rubles, including all airport taxes.
As Biletix's press service told our portal, last year the average roundtrip ticket price on Pobeda flights was 4,993 rubles domestically and 8,689 rubles internationally, compared to 8,017 rubles and 19,257 rubles on traditional carriers. "Therefore, thanks to Pobeda, low-cost airline passengers saved an average of 60.51% of their budget on domestic flights, and on international flights, Pobeda tickets were 2.2 times cheaper than traditional carriers," the company explained.
They also noted that the average price of Pobeda airline tickets to domestic destinations has decreased: in 2018, the price decline was 2.11%—from 5,095 rubles to 4,993 rubles. The average price of Pobeda airline tickets to international destinations increased from 7,765 rubles to 8,548 rubles, a decrease of 101%.
Pobeda Airlines' share of domestic flight bookings remained unchanged year-on-year at 16%. On international routes, the low-cost carrier's share increased from 4.5% to 6.4%.
According to Biletix analytics, Pobeda's most popular destinations in 2018 were Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Istanbul, Samara, Mineralnye Vody, Kaliningrad, Tivat, and Volgograd.
In 2019, Pobeda Airlines plans to carry at least 10 million customers. The company will achieve this by expanding its fleet and expanding its route network. By the beginning of the 2019 calendar summer, Pobeda Airlines' fleet will be 501 new passenger aircraft compared to the summer of 2018: 30 new Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be in service. In November 2019, the company will begin receiving the newest Boeing 737MAX8 aircraft. The average age of Pobeda's fleet is 2.3 years.
Pobeda Airlines will soon announce new flight routes, including not only international routes but also popular Russian destinations.
