On the last weekend of June, Sheremetyevo Airport experienced problems with baggage handling.

As employees of two airlines told Vedomosti, approximately 9,000 pieces of baggage were not delivered to their destinations on June 29 and 30. However, at the airport itself They stated that we are talking about 1,500 units.
"Due to intense thunderstorm activity on Friday, some flights arrived at Sheremetyevo late. Passengers' planned transfer connections were not made. This situation resulted in a backlog of approximately 1,500 pieces of baggage, which is currently being shipped to its destinations," an airport spokesperson said.
As a reminder, on Friday, June 28, continued rain in Moscow flooded one of the roads leading to Sheremetyevo Airport.
