Tips for tourists

Weekend Route. Tyumen Region

To make your plans come true and see the main attractions of the Tyumen region, you need to cheat a little and extend your weekend by just one day.

I arrived in Tyumen early Friday, rented a car, and spent the rest of the day exploring Tyumen. First, I went to see the famous Tura River embankment.

The uniqueness of this project lies in the fact that the Tura embankment in Tyumen has become the only four-level embankment in Russia:

Very close by, on a hill on the right bank of the Tura River, is the Holy Trinity Monastery, founded in 1616 and one of the oldest architectural ensembles in Siberia:

The city has preserved many 19th-century wooden houses with unique carved window frames:

The beautiful Church of the Savior is one of the oldest and most impressive churches in Tyumen:

An unusual bathhouse building in the constructivist style on Lenin Street:

Business center "Gasoil Plaza":

The stele at Memory Square is shaped like a candle and symbolizes grief for the soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War:

Night view of the Tyumen Oblast administration building:

The House of Soviets, now the building of the Tyumen Regional Duma:

The next day, early in the morning, I set off for Tobolsk. It's only 250 kilometers away, on the way to the village of Pokrovskoye, home to the Grigory Rasputin House Museum:

Unfortunately, it was early and we couldn't get inside.
