Tsar Semigor and his fairytale tower became ambassadors of the Chelyabinsk region.

Visitors to the Chelyabinsk region are invited to the great chamber of Tsar Semigor. This character now represents the region as part of the cultural and tourism project "Fairytale Map of Russia." Alexey Kozlovsky, the project's creator, told TURIZM about this.

This summer The Chelyabinsk Region has been added to the "Fairytale Map of Russia." This region is designated the official birthplace of the hero of Ural legends and tales, Tsar Semigor. Now, this hero and Guardian of the Southern Urals will represent the region at various tourist events. A residence for the fairytale character, in the form of a large tower, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2018 at the Gorka interactive open-air park in Kopeysk. It will host entertainment and educational programs. In July 2019, a large interregional fairytale festival will be held near Tsar Semigor's tower, featuring fairytale and epic heroes from across Russia.

The "Fairytale Map of Russia" project aims to develop and promote the territories and landmarks of Russian regions based on fairy tales, epics, and legends. According to its authors, participation in the project allows a city or region to stand out from the crowd. Currently, the "fairytale map" includes the city of Pereslavl-Zalessky in the Yaroslavl region—the birthplace of Tsar Berendey; Kostroma—the birthplace of Snegurochka; Kirov—the birthplace of Ivan Tsarevich; the village of Kukoboy in the Yaroslavl region—the birthplace of Baba Yaga; Shadrinsk in the Kurgan region—the birthplace of the Frog Princess; and many others.
