The metro will come to Vnukovo in three years.

A metro station near Moscow's Vnukovo Airport could open within the next three to four years, Interfax reports, citing a statement from Andrey Bocharov, head of the city's construction department.

It will stretch to Vnukovo Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya metro line. According to A. Bocharov, design work for the section is currently underway. Two stations are needed to reach the airport, extending from the currently under-construction Rasskazovka station. The final stop may be built above ground rather than underground, allowing it to be integrated into the airport's existing infrastructure.

Earlier, Moscow Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Construction Marat Khusnullin announced that the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya metro line would be extended from Ramenki station to Rasskazovka station. Seven stations are being built between them. The line will then be extended to Vnukovo Airport.
