The most expensive apartments and condos for tourists are located in Miami, Boston, and Reykjavik, according to Bloomberg's annual report on tourist spending on online accommodations.

In his research Experts used Airbnb listings as a reference. They found that in some cities, renting a private apartment can be quite expensive. Miami tops the list of the most expensive destinations, with an average nightly rate of 205$. Boston is second, with an average nightly rate of 195$. The most expensive European city and the third most expensive city in the world is Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. The average Airbnb apartment price in Reykjavik is just one dollar lower than in Boston.

The top ten also included Tel Aviv (an average of 1881 TP4T per night), Dubai (1851 TP4T), Los Angeles (1801 TP4T), Amsterdam (1781 TP4T), San Francisco (1781 TP4T), Jerusalem (175 TP4T), and Sydney (1751 TP4T). Accommodation in Riyadh, Edinburgh, New York, Kuwait, London, Dublin, and Barcelona is slightly cheaper.

It's worth noting that the figures provided are averages. As experts point out, budget options can be found in any city. They just require more time searching. Furthermore, Bloomberg's data differs from Airbnb's internal figures. This is because the agency's analysts only reviewed available listings at a given point in time, ignoring those that had already been booked.
